Pom Health needed a compliant EHR to launch care delivery without engineering overhead
As Pom Health moved into care delivery, the team required an EHR that could support clinical and operational workflows immediately while remaining flexible and easy to extend.
When Pom Health launched in 2024 to provide personalized nutrition for chronic conditions, the company was moving quickly from early testing into full care delivery, bringing with it an immediate need for a compliant, scalable EHR. The team required a platform that could support core operational workflows such as scheduling and billing without slowing down time to market or overloading their engineering team.
“We knew we needed to stand up care delivery fast, but we couldn’t afford to compromise on compliance or user experience,” said Misha Nasrollahzadeh, Co-Founder and CEO of Pom Health.
Pom Health conducted a formal evaluation of several EHR solutions that are popular with digital health companies. While some platforms offered flexibility, others required significant engineering investment to become production-ready. “Some tools were powerful, but they required a lot of building ourselves,” Nasrollahzadeh noted. “That wasn’t realistic for where we were as a growing company.”

Healthie provided Pom Health with a production-ready EHR that enabled immediate care delivery without requiring heavy clinician training or significant engineering investment. Compared to alternatives evaluated during the selection process, Healthie offered the right balance of cost flexibility, usability, and extensibility for a company still early in its growth.
Pom Health quickly deployed Healthie’s scheduling and clinical charting workflows, alongside Zoom for Healthcare to support virtual visits and claims submissions. Importantly, the white-labeled patient experience allowed Pom Health to maintain brand continuity across the care journey.
Looking ahead, Pom Health will use Healthie as a foundational platform that can be extended through deeper API usage as the business scales. “The API gives us room to grow and customize over time,” said Nasrollahzadeh. “We were able to launch with core functionality in place, and now we can be more deliberate about where we build on top of the platform."
