On Healthie, Clem&Thyme built operations that scaled with every stage of growth
Systems and workflows that adapted and grew alongside the practice.
Clem&Thyme has been on Healthie since 2016. In that time, the practice has grown into one of Ohio's leading nutrition group practices, with Healthie supporting every stage of that growth. New clinicians were onboarded without disruption, new services were added without switching platforms, and every expansion was absorbed by the same system they started on.
- No-Shows Declined: Automating appointment reminders, collecting credit cards at intake, and having cancellation fees built into the workflow drastically reduced no-shows.
- Intake Runs Itself: The office manager uses Healthie to verify all patient forms are complete before every appointment.
- Rapid Team Growth: Five dietitians hired in two months and a fifth Ohio location opening this August.
- Hybrid Care: Managing a split of 50/50 virtual and in-person care on a single, unified platform.
"We've never had to outgrow it. Every time the practice has expanded, Healthie has expanded with us." Leslie Edmunds, MPH, RDN, CDE, CLT Founder + Owner, Clem&Thyme

Private practice Clem&Thyme’s organic growth outpaced their systems
Manual scheduling and paper charts couldn’t keep pace with the practice’s high demand.
When Leslie Edmunds, MPH, RDN, IFNCP, CDCES, CLT founded Clem&Thyme in 2012, private practice nutrition care was not mainstream in her area. For the first several years, she ran the practice solo — managing scheduling, billing, and client communications through MindBody, paper charts, and a physical calendar. It was workable, but her waiting list was months long.
In 2016, patient demand had Edmunds open a larger office, bring on additional clinicians, and rebrand. In her transformation from a solo practice to a group practice, she knew that her analogue systems would slow operations and hinder productivity. "When you're seeing clients on your own, you can make it work. But the moment you add people and locations, manual processes fall apart" says Edmunds. Tracking insurance and billing on paper, manually sending reminders, coordinating schedules — none of it was built for what Clem&Thyme was becoming.
Healthie became the operational backbone for Clem&Thyme
Healthie becomes the configurable foundation that grows with the practice.
When Clem&Thyme made the switch to Healthie in 2016, the immediate impact was speed. Built-in charting templates meant clinicians could document visits quickly, critical for a growing team seeing high patient volume across multiple locations.
Scheduling became a strong suit too, keeping a multi-clinician, multi-location practice running smoothly day to day and automating reminders that were previously done manually. "It's intuitive enough that onboarding new clinicians has never felt like a burden," says Edmunds. That ease of adoption matters when your team is expanding quickly.
Beyond core workflows, Healthie unlocked new business possibilities. Clem&Thyme now uses the platform to manage functional lab testing which adds a revenue stream and increases client engagement.
"Healthie created space for us to build our business beyond traditional appointments," says Edmunds.
