Three Rivers Mental Health runs a large group practice on Healthie, with measurable improvements across staffing, billing, and operations
Replacing OptiMantra and IntakeQ with Healthie delivered immediate, measurable impact across the practice.
Since moving to Healthie in December 2025, Three Rivers has seen measurable change across the practice:
- 25–30 hours saved per week: Time previously spent on manual reporting, billing oversight, and utilization tracking is now reinvested in leading the practice.
- 2–3 support staff running a 17-clinician operation: Where practices of similar size typically require 7 support staff, Three Rivers runs lean as a direct result of Healthie's integrated workflows.
- Less hands in billing: Healthie's ClaimMD integration cleaned up the billing process end-to-end.
- Faster, trackable patient onboarding: Intake, communications, and care coordination run without gaps — critical for a population already managing complex schedules.
- Two EHRs replaced by one connected platform: OptiMantra and IntakeQ gave way to a single system for billing, prescribing, documentation, and clinical workflows.
For Nina, the impact of one connected platform is well illustrated by a single family:
"A daughter came to us first. Then her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and her father followed. Three family members, one practice. Healthie made it possible to coordinate billing and care across all three seamlessly — something our previous systems simply could not do. That family didn't have to explain themselves three times or manage three separate systems. We held them together."

Fragmented tools left Three Rivers without real-time visibility into billing, provider utilization, or patient flow
Disconnected tools left a growing behavioral health group without the data it needed to make smart, timely decisions.
Three Rivers Mental Health specializes in mental health care for people navigating a cancer diagnosis, a patient population with complex, overlapping care needs where a smooth and consistent experience matters.
As Three Rivers scaled to 17 clinicians, founder Nina Abelowitz found the tools weren't keeping pace. Running on OptiMantra and IntakeQ, the team had no consolidated view of practice performance. Reports had to be assembled manually, and there was no reliable way to track growth or operational health in real time.
"We were hitting so many roadblocks, and I kept getting frustrated," Nina recalls. "The practice was growing fast. Our volume has grown between 100 and 200 times over the years, and when your EHR can't keep up with that, it holds everything back. The more patients we see, the simpler our workflows need to be." This gap at the leadership level led Nina to search for a solution that would enable her to gain the practice oversight to make informed decisions about staffing and growth.
Three Rivers replaced manual reporting with real-time dashboards to run a lean, faster-growing practice
Deep integrations across billing, e-prescribing, and documentation replaced a patchwork of tools with one connected system.
Moving to Healthie in December 2025, the most immediate shift for Three Rivers was visibility. Nina gained a real-time view of practice performance without manually assembling reports. The provider utilization dashboard alone changed how she makes staffing decisions. "If all clinicians are at 75–80% capacity, I know I'm not ready to hire yet — it's that simple." That clarity has also kept the support team lean. "I've been able to cut down my head count. For a practice my size, it's normal to have 7 support staff, but we only have 2–3." Across visibility, billing oversight, and utilization tracking, Healthie saves Three Rivers 25–30 hours a week.
Billing through Healthie's ClaimMD integration is markedly cleaner than previous workflows, with a more efficient revenue cycle managed by a single biller. Patient onboarding now runs without gaps: "We onboard a lot quicker, we're more nimble, and we can see where people are in the process," Nina says. For prescribers, native e-prescribing removes the need for a separate tool, a meaningful upgrade for a team where many clinicians hold dual certifications in medicine and psychiatry.
