If you’ve been following our blog series on nutrition marketing and branding, you know we’ve gone over logo basics and logo utility. Today, we’re expanding on those two topics to cover a few easy tips on how create a cohesive image to go with your brand. These skills can be used from creating your website to initiating email marketing campaigns and newsletters to social media covers and banners.

We are going to begin by discussing how to create brand recognition through uniformity and cohesion.

How to Create Brand Recognition for Your Practice Using Color Schemes

Find A Branding Color Scheme

Check out the example to the right: Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts. Both are instantly recognizable by color, but it’s not just one color, it’s a combination of colors that helps make each brand recognizable.

How to Create Brand Recognition For Wellness Business

Creating a color scheme is a great way to make your brand much more recognizable and to further uniformity in items associated with your brand.

You color scheme can be used on:

  • Emails
  • Newsletters
  • Your website
  • Across social media platforms
  • Business cards
  • Your Healthie platform (for Practice Plus plans and above)
  • And more

Creating a Color Scheme that Reflects Your Wellness Brand

Generally, there are no hard and fast rules for what will make a good color scheme. If you already designed your logo, play off the colors that are in your logo (if your logo happens to have colors). If your logo has a single color, consider pairing it with a complimentary color. For example, if your logo is dark, pair it with a lighter color. The same goes for pairing bold colors with more muted colors.

Once you decide on what colors you want to use, to make it uniform throughout, find the HTML color HEX code. This is a 6 letter/number code that will pinpoint the exact color you’re using. It can be used in most online platforms for choosing colors. For instance, black is #000000, white is #FFFFFF.

Strategically Using Your Branded Color Scheme

Check out the example email above. You might recognize this example from our WIX email tutorial. In this example, you can see a color scheme emerging in this dusty maroon color that crops up in different parts of the email.

You can find it in the:

  1. Fig in the mock-logo
  2. Tag-line, “Come in for a Consultation Today”
  3. Call-to-action button, “Register Now,”
  4. Footer bar at the bottom of the page with the social media buttons
  5. Photograph included with the beets

These details make the brand come together and can be used in all brand-related materials.

There is a lot more that goes into brand recognition without looking at color scheme, for instance – even in this email, there are heavy hints that this email comes from a dietitian, from the fig illustration in the logo, the tagline that drops in the word “consultation,” and the image included in the content of the email.

The color scheme alone isn’t going to do that. The color scheme will, however, make you stand out next to another private practice and as a business. It ensures that people are more likely to recognize your brand’s name when they see it.
