How to Use Your Logo for Wellness Brands

Branding is what we like to think of as the art of sticking your logo everywhere. While this may seem over the top and even crazy when you’re first getting started, you’ll eventually see that it’s crazy not to put your logo everywhere associated with your business.

Your logo is a big part of your brand identity. It should be recognizable at a glance so you can build brand recognition. Adding your logo to everything associated with your practice is exactly how you take credit and show affiliation.

1. Ensure the Proper File Type

Before you start using your logo, you should make sure you have your logo in the right file type to maximize usage. Images are most often saved as .jpeg files, but for logos you will want your image to be a .png file. (FYI: The file type can be identified by the the letters that follow the file name!)

The difference between a .jpeg and a .png is that .jpegs require a background while .pngs will save just the logo without the background, or with a transparent background. See the examples below to see what we mean.

If you do not have a .png of your logo, there is a good chance that your logo designer will be able to supply you with that version or the image.

Once you have your logo as a .png file, it will be easier to use in a variety of contexts. If your logo’s text is black, you may also want to consider getting a version of the logo with white text as we have shown above for greater usability.

2. Where to Display Your Logo

Like we mentioned above, your logo should be everywhere. That is, everywhere you have a business presence. The easiest place to get started is social media.

  • Update your profile image to your logo (if it’s not already) or a photo of you
  • Add your logo to your header images on social media (this includes Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, etc.)
  • Make sure your logo (or practice name) is on all Pins you create

Then, make sure to use your logo on all other marketing efforts, including your:

  • Newsletter
  • Business cards
  • Email campaigns
  • Advertisements
  • Flyers or brochures

Any place where your practice’s name comes up, it’s always a good idea to try to include a logo instead of just writing out the name of your business.  Seeing your logo evokes instant name-recognition between the color scheme and unique font, so choose your colors and fonts wisely. You may want to consider carrying over these brand elements into your other marketing materials and platforms such as your website, brochures, social media, etc. Over time, you will begin to create instant brand recognition with your logo, as long as you keep putting it out there.
