COOP Careers faced operations gaps in client services
COOP needed an EHR to manage documentation, intake, and communication.
COOP Careers, a national non-profit that offers a unique fellowship program equipping first-generation and low-income college graduates with the skills and connections they need to build their career, faced significant operational challenges. Without an EHR to support its Social Services function, the team lacked a compliant solution for completing, organizing, and tracking documentation.
“We needed a comprehensive solution to address multiple operational gaps,” explains Adis Orta, Sr. Director of Social Work. “We required a platform that would allow clients to submit our ‘Request for Services’ form directly into the system, streamlining intakes. We also needed tools for scheduling, documentation, and organizing clients by cycle or semester. Just as important were features for confidential follow-up and secure, private messaging.”

Clients can now create accounts, share presenting concerns, and complete consent documentation in one place. Clinicians review submissions quickly and respond without delay.
The team also implemented Healthie’s calendar and chat features to schedule appointments, collect forms, and maintain consistent communication. “The private chat function has become an invaluable tool for client follow-up, enabling secure and ongoing communication,” notes Orta. The ability to edit and transfer documents within the platform further simplified workflows.
