🧾 End-to-end Billing Updates
Thousands of organizations use Healthie’s Comprehensive Billing Solution to support FFS, Cash-Pay, VBC, and Employer payment models. Here’s an overview We've introduced several updates to strengthen insurance billing workflows, improve visibility, and reduce manual effort across the board:
Claim.MD Integration: Streamlined Insurance Billing in Healthie’s UI
We launched a native integration with Claim.MD that enables billers and clinicians to submit claims within Healthie’s EHR. Claim.MD is built for deep platform integration—offering real-time eligibility checks, direct claim submission from session notes, and automated ERA processing that syncs with your Healthie workflows. Want to switch to Claim.MD? Learn more and get started.
Auto-Create CMS 1500 Claims: Eligible appointments automatically generate CMS 1500 claims each night, eliminating manual claim creation and reducing billing staff workload. This automation ensures claims are submitted promptly after appointments, improving cash flow and reducing the risk of missed submissions.
Write-offs for Invoices: Providers can apply write-offs to invoices with selectable reasons (discount, uncollectible debt, financial hardship, billing error), supporting sliding scale pricing and financial assistance workflows.
Invoices for Automated & Failed Charges: Healthie generates invoices for recurring packages, no-show or late cancellations, and failed payments.
CPT Code Configuration & Billing Accuracy: Admins can set contracted payer rates per CPT code to reflect expected reimbursement amounts, while appointment types can be directly linked to specific CPT codes. Together, these features ensure accurate billing from scheduling through claim submission, reducing billing errors and improving revenue cycle management.
Balance Due Column + Disputes Tab: New views in the Invoices and Billing tabs make it easier to track outstanding balances and manage chargebacks.
🩺 Reducing Clicks in Creating Audit-Proof Clinical Documentation
Charting is the bedrock of care delivery and centerpiece for follow-ups in longitudinal care. We’re continuing to roll out new functionality to streamline workflows, pre-emptively help clinicians flag documentation errors, and increase flexibility in our chart notes.
Smart Phrase Hotkeys: Providers can instantly insert Smart Phrases by typing a period (.) in chart notes, speeding up documentation by allowing providers to access their saved Smart Phrases without leaving the chart note.
Support for Multiple Chart Notes per Appointment: Appointments support multiple associated chart notes, enabling better documentation of complex care delivery.
"Jump to Issue" Button for Charting Errors: A sticky banner appears when validation issues are present, helping providers resolve problems without scanning the full note.
Persistent Filters on the Chart Notes Page: When a note is signed, locked, or closed, filters on the chart notes page stay in place—eliminating the need to reapply filters when reviewing multiple notes.
Add Addendums to Signed (But Unlocked) Notes: Providers can add addendums to signed chart notes without removing the signature, as long as the note remains unlocked. This allows for important updates while preserving the original documentation.
Charting Signatures Display Legal Name: To meet documentation standards, Healthie uses the provider's legal name for all signatures on chart notes.
🗓️ Updates to Scheduling and Workflow Management
Organizations use Healthie to complete millions of appointments each month on Healthie and we continue to layer in functionality to support clinical networks at scale and ensure admins can coordinate minute-by-minute actions and workflows.
Client Appointment Requests: Clients can submit appointment requests even if there's no availability listed—offering a structured way to track interest and reduce missed opportunities.
Refreshed Appointment Details Experience (In Progress): We're rolling out a cleaner, more responsive layout for the Appointment Details view (previously "Session Details"), designed for long-term scalability and usability.
Updated Intake Flow Logic: When clients are reassigned to a different provider or group with a different default intake flow, they'll automatically receive the new intake forms.
📱 Client Experience & Accessibility
Several updates support increased transparency, regulatory compliance, and mobile accessibility for clients.
Self-Cancellation for Recurring Packages: In line with FTC "Click to Cancel" guidelines, clients can cancel future recurring payments directly through their Healthie portal.
Mobile Profile Editing & Reminders: Clients can update personal info (names, pronouns, insurance details, etc.) via the app and receive push notifications 5 minutes before sessions.
Pre-Cancellation Reason Prompt: When cancelling an appointment, clients are prompted to indicate a reason—offering insight into no-show trends.
Improved Form and Program Behavior: Updates across charting and intake reduce confusion by ensuring that clients only see content they're eligible for or authorized to access.
🔌 API & Developer Experience
We've expanded our developer toolkit with new capabilities that support deeper integrations and better workflow automation.
Healthie Dev Assist: AI-powered co-pilot for building with Healthie’s GraphQL API. Whether you're exploring schema, writing and debugging queries, or building custom integrations, Dev Assist streamlines development with intelligent suggestions and real-time support.
Under the hood, Dev Assist is powered by the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI tools to live data sources. Developers (and non-developers) can use Dev Assist to:
- Write and debug queries & mutations
- Get instant schema insights
- Explore the Healthie API with real-time read/write access
- Build integrations faster, with less friction
Additional Webhook Coverage: New webhook events support real-time notifications for Stripe disputes, Zoom recordings, client merges, prescription status changes from DoseSpot, and form template updates. Additional webhooks track subscription changes and appointment modifications for archived clients.
Improved API Access & Mutations: Enhanced field-level API access provides more granular control over data retrieval. New mutation support includes calendar and appointment workflows, organization membership management, and automatic appointment location requirements for in-person visits.
Form Template & Custom Module Tracking: API customers can track activity on form templates and individual questions, with webhooks firing when forms are created, updated, or when questions are added to templates.
Document Association Improvements: Documents created from chart notes are properly associated with their source notes, accessible via the API through form_answer_groups for better data relationship tracking.

You can already use AI to generate chart notes, summarize patient records, and explore our API with Dev Assist, our GraphQL co-pilot. We’re now extending that foundation to support more flexible, automation-friendly workflows—so teams can trigger actions, surface insights, or even string together steps using natural language or their own AI systems.
We’re continuing to roll out additional capabilities in pursuit of our vision - 100 Use Cases of AI across the EHR to support the clinical and administrative workflows that your teams use every day.
📊 Data and Analytics
We’ve made practical improvements to the way teams build, navigate, and customize their data and experience in Healthie—whether that’s creating forms, reviewing client data, or analyzing trends across the business. These updates are designed to save time, reduce clicks, and make it easier to tailor Healthie to your team’s needs as you grow.
Visualize (formerly Reports): Healthie has launched Visualize, the first phase of our re-imagined Data and Analytics Suite. You can see a preview with the appointments dashboard. This redesign lays the groundwork for Visualize+, a no-code dashboard builder coming in Q4 2025.
Client Cancellation Insights: A new Cancellation Report tracks client-provided cancellation reasons, helping organizations identify trends and reduce future no-shows.

We’re expanding Healthie’s billing infrastructure to give teams better control over how payments are collected, tracked, and reconciled. These updates focus on reducing the manual overhead that slows down revenue cycle operations—whether that’s managing co-pays and write-offs, reviewing insurance payments, or staying on top of outstanding balances. We're introducing a new tasking system and integrated workflow views that will make it easier to assign, track, and complete tasks within Healthie.
Coming soon:
- A redesigned tasking system with reminders, status tracking, and assignment
- Workflow tabs for documentation, appointments, and follow-up
- Trigger-based tasks - like missed appointments or unsigned notes
- Updates to the Chart Note Dashboard for team-wide visibility
We're adding task logic and workflow views directly into Healthie, so everything from documentation to follow-up can be tracked in one place.

What’s coming:
- Smarter Appointment Requests and calendar interactions
- Guided intake flows and improved autofill logic
- Cancellation insight tracking + follow-up tools
- Mobile profile editing and session reminders
- Better visibility controls for client-facing content
The goal is simple: empower clients, streamline operations, and keep things moving without the back-and-forth.
👥 Creating Configurable Client Profiles
We're making the client profile more flexible so organizations can configure client profiles to match their specific clinical workflows—customizing what information appears first, how sections are arranged, and what each team member needs to access for efficient documentation and care delivery.
You’ll soon see:
- Enhancements to Quick Profile and visibility settings
- A redesigned Client Actions tab
- Custom letterheads for branded documentation
These improvements are designed to give admins more control, without adding setup complexity.

Whether you're creating custom front-end experiences, integrating EHR functionality into existing systems, or building last-mile customizations for your care delivery model, we're adding new webhooks, improving API consistency, and launching tools like Dev Assist to reduce development time.
Here’s what’s coming:
- Expanded webhooks for Zoom, Stripe, forms, and more
- More APIs for sub-orgs, phased visits, and permission management
- Cursor-based pagination and standardized mutations

We're making it easier to build on Healthie—fast, safely, and with less guesswork.
