Product Spotlight: Charting on the Healthie Mobile App
Providers can now create, edit, sign, and lock chart notes right from the Healthie mobile app, completing the full charting workflow on the go.
The Healthie mobile app has become a bigger part of how providers run their day, whether they're checking a schedule between sessions, messaging a client, or reviewing a chart before a home visit. As more of the workday happens on a phone or tablet, the tools providers rely on need to keep pace.
Charting is one of the clearest examples. A home visit wraps up. A client steps out of an in-person session. An on-call message comes in. In each case, the documentation needs to happen, and providers increasingly want to handle it without waiting to get back to a desk.
Bringing full charting to mobile has been a build with that goal in mind from the start. Last quarter, Healthie shipped the ability to view chart notes on mobile, giving providers a way to review documentation from anywhere. It was the first piece of a bigger picture: complete charting, wherever the work happens.
Now that picture is complete. Providers can create, edit, sign, lock, unlock, add addendums to, and delete chart notes right from the Healthie mobile app, the same core workflow already available on web.
What's included in the mobile charting experience
Chart notes on the Healthie mobile app now support the same core workflow available on web: create, edit, sign, lock, unlock, addendum, and delete, all from your iOS or Android device. Nothing about how charting works has changed. It's simply no longer tied to being at a computer.
Create and edit chart notes on mobile
Starting a new note on mobile works the same way it does on web. Select a charting template, give the note a name, and complete it using the same fields your team already knows. Editing works the same way too, right up until a note is signed. Once a note is signed, it's locked from further edits unless it's unlocked first, or a provider adds an addendum instead.
Sign, lock, and manage the record with confidence
Providers can sign, lock, or sign and lock a note directly from mobile. Locking (including through Sign and Lock) shows a confirmation before finalizing, so nothing gets locked by accident.
If a correction is needed later, an authorized provider can unlock the note. Unlocking requires a Notice of Data Integrity acknowledgment and a documented reason, which is saved automatically to the note's history log for accountability. Need to remove a signature instead? That's available on unlocked notes only, and shows the signer's name and the date and time they signed before you confirm.
For notes that are already locked, addendums let you append new information without reopening the original entry. Addendums support rich text formatting, and once saved, they can't be edited, so the original record stays intact.
And if a note was created in error and hasn't been signed or locked yet, it can be deleted right from the app.
Find what you need, fast
The search, sort, and filter tools that shipped with view-only access are still here. Search across note names and content, sort by newest, oldest, or note name, and filter by note type, status, or date range to get to the note you need without scrolling through a long list.
Built on your existing permissions
None of this requires new setup. Every action on mobile respects the same charting permissions your organization already has configured on web. If a provider can sign their own notes today, they can sign them from mobile. If unlocking or deleting requires a specific permission on web, the same rule applies here.
How to get started
The full mobile charting experience is rolling out in phases, so some actions may become available to your organization before others. There's nothing to configure beyond the charting permissions you've already set up.
