Built In determines the winners of Best Places to Work based on an algorithm, using company data about compensation and benefits. To reflect the benefits candidates are searching for more frequently on Built In, the program also weighs criteria like remote and flexible work opportunities, programs for DEI and other people-first cultural offerings.

“I’d like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the 2024 Best Places to Work winners,” says Maria Christopoulos Katris. “I am truly inspired by these companies that have risen to the challenge of fostering a positive work environment, maintaining a strong brand, and ensuring employee satisfaction. The future is filled with promise and we are so excited to see what lies ahead.”

Healthie, founded in 2016, by CEO & co-founder, Erica Jain and CTO & co-founder Cavan Klinsky noticed two main trends happening within healthcare:

(1) Consumers were increasingly interacting with healthcare providers digitally (e.g., corporate weight loss programs, but it was happening via email, facetime, text messages, and physical handouts)

(2) Existing EMR platforms had been designed for one-time, episodic, in-person, physician-only care, and built to optimize medical billing. These EMR platforms then tacked on patient portals, but they didn’t feel like Gmail & Instagram, which is what consumers needed to actually build relationships with providers.

The two founded the company while in school, launching a product that quickly gained adoption in the wellness community; with such a positive reception the decision to focus 100% on building Healthie was an easy one that came after doing Techstars NYC in Summer ‘16. In 2018, Healthie evolved beyond the wellness community, releasing the Graph-QL API for consumption and landing their first digital health customers.

Amidst the dynamic evolution of the health and wellness landscape, Healthie has continued to deliver business critical tools that every provider needs to deliver recurring, collaborative care. It is clear that this care model is the foundation for the next generation of healthcare. Patients will engage more with providers outside of the hospital walls in a proactive and preventive manner. In 2022, Healthie secured a $16 million Series A funding round to meet the moment of innovation that’s happening in healthcare. Today, Healthie supports 15,000 healthcare providers on the platform, and is used to deliver care to over 5M patients.
