Standard vs Support Roles
Choose between two team member role types: Standard, for providers who need their own assigned clients, calendar, and Zoom; and Support, for staff handling coordination, messaging, and scheduling on behalf of providers without their own client caseload. Every Standard seat comes bundled with one Support seat, so purchasing more Standard seats also increases Support capacity. Either role can additionally be designated as an Administrator.

The problem it solves
Not every team member needs the same capabilities: a biller or scheduler doesn't need their own client caseload and calendar the way a provider does, but still needs meaningful platform access. Standard vs Support Roles solves this by offering two purpose-built role types instead of a single access tier that either over- or under-provisions non-provider staff.
What's included
- Standard role with individual client assignment, calendar, and Zoom
- Support role for coordination, client messaging, and booking on behalf of providers
- Administrator designation available on either role type
- Fixed 1:1 billing ratio between Standard and Support seats
- Role-change restriction requiring a different admin to modify a member's own role
How it works
An admin sets a new team member's role to Standard or Support when adding them, or changes an existing member's role from Organization > Members > [member] > Edit Settings; a member cannot change their own role, so another admin must make the change on their behalf, and the affected member needs to log out and back in to see it take effect. Standard seats support their own calendar, Zoom, and client assignments, while Support seats can message clients, view the Organization Calendar, and book or manage sessions for other team members, but don't get their own calendar or caseload. Because seats bill at a 1:1 Standard-to-Support ratio, an organization with more Support than Standard staff needs (e.g., 10 Standard providers but 16 Support staff) purchases additional Standard seats to cover the gap, even if those extra Standard seats go unused by an actual provider.
Standard vs Support Roles defines the two team member types available in a Healthie organization, each with a different scope of capability. Standard roles are built for providers who need their own assigned clients, their own calendar, and their own Zoom for sessions; Support roles are built for assistants or administrators who coordinate care and operations, message clients, and book or view sessions on behalf of providers, without having their own client caseload or calendar. Both role types can additionally be granted Administrator status, which carries the account's highest level of permissions, including billing visibility and the ability to add new members. Seats are billed in a fixed 1:1 ratio: every Standard seat purchased comes with one bundled Support seat, so an organization needing more Support capacity than Standard providers must purchase additional Standard seats to unlock it.
