Metrics

Track and graph client health metrics, weight, height, BMI, blood sugar, and any custom metric a provider defines, from both web and mobile. Default metrics like BMI and BMR calculate automatically from weight and height entries, and data can sync in from connected wearables and smart devices. Metrics can also be attached to intake forms and charting templates as Smart Fields, so entries populate automatically wherever they're needed.

The problem it solves

Providers need to see a client's health data as a trend over time, not just a single number mentioned in session, and manually re-entering the same value across a chart note, an intake form, and a graph wastes time and invites errors. Metrics solves this by giving every value one home that graphs automatically and can populate elsewhere as a Smart Field.

What's included

  • Default metrics (weight, height, BMI, BMR via two formulas, growth charts, blood sugar, HbA1c, and more) that auto-calculate from weight/height entries
  • Custom metrics for any quantifiable value, shareable across an organization's team members
  • Automatic wearable and smart-device sync (Fitbit, Apple Health, Google Fit, iHealth scales, and more)
  • Smart Field integration with intake forms and charting templates, so entries auto-populate the metric graph
  • Per-metric visibility control (hide/show to client) and separate provider-entered vs. client-entered logging on the same graph

How it works

A provider enables specific default metrics, or creates a custom metric for any quantifiable value, from Client Settings at the global, group, or individual level; enabling BMI or BMR graphs requires the client to also have height and weight logged. Providers or clients log an entry from the client's Metrics tab, or a metric can be added as a question in an intake form or charting template so it's captured automatically at intake or during a session, in which case it populates the client's metrics graph as a Smart Field without separate entry. Connected wearables and smart devices sync supported metrics automatically once a client links their device. Providers review a client's metrics from Client Profile > Metrics, where each metric shows as its own graph over a selected date range; clicking a data point opens the entry to view, edit, delete, or comment/react, the same way as any other journal entry. An admin can enable "Shares Custom Metrics with the Entire Organization" on a team member's settings so their custom metrics become available to other providers' Form Builders and client accounts.

Metrics let providers and clients track and graph quantitative health data, weight, height, BMI, blood sugar, and more, over time, from both the web browser and the mobile app. It's for providers who want to see trends rather than one-off numbers, and includes a set of default metrics that automatically calculate related values, like BMI and BMR, from weight and height entries. Providers can also create their own custom metrics for anything quantifiable, such as a specific lab value or vitamin level, and attach them to intake forms or charting templates as Smart Fields so they populate automatically. Metrics can sync from connected wearables and smart devices, like Fitbit, Apple Health, Google Fit, and iHealth scales, so data flows in without a client logging it manually.
