The problem it solves
Providers outside of the specialty that implanted a device often have no visibility into what devices a patient has, which can affect care decisions, imaging safety, or medication choices. Implantable Devices Details solves this by giving any provider viewing the chart a structured record of a client's implanted devices.

How it works
A provider navigates to the Client Profile's Actions tab and adds an implantable device record, including the device's Unique Device Identifier where available. The record can be edited or removed later as needed. Because this information lives on the Client Profile rather than a single chart note, any provider on the client's care team can see what devices are on file when reviewing the chart.
Implantable Devices Details let providers document a client's implantable medical devices, including Unique Device Identifier (UDI) information, directly on the Client Profile. It's built to satisfy ONC certification requirements around implantable device tracking, giving any clinician viewing the chart visibility into what devices a patient currently has. Device records can be added, edited, or removed from the same Actions tab used for other structured clinical details like Family History and Allergies. This is aimed at giving all clinicians accessing the chart the information they need to deliver safer, more informed care, rather than being limited to surgical specialties.
