A provider entering a metric value manually can easily miss that it falls outside a clinically normal range, especially across a busy caseload. Clinical Decision Support solves this by surfacing an automatic, evidence-based warning at the moment of entry, without getting in the way of documentation.

Clinical Decision Support automatically warns a provider when a value they enter for a supported metric, currently A1c, body fat percentage, weight, or waist circumference, falls outside the normal range defined by medical research sources including the NIH. It's built to support ONC certification requirements for real-time, evidence-based clinical decision support. The warning is purely informational; providers can still save an out-of-range value without any restriction. This is described as a first step toward a broader CDS system, with additional updates planned to meet the HTI-1 Rule's Decision Support Intervention (DSI) criteria.
