Healthwise Patient Education Articles

Let providers share evidence-based Healthwise (WebMD Ignite) patient education content directly from the charting workflow — with diagnosis-based content suggestions, one-click send to the patient portal, and automatic chart documentation.

The problem it solves

Providers have no integrated way to share vetted patient education content inside Healthie. Sending external links or printouts breaks the care experience and creates compliance risk around unvetted sources.

What's included

  • "Patient Education" access embedded directly in the charting workflow
  • Diagnosis-aware (ICD-10-based) content suggestions, plus manual library search
  • Multi-select "cart" to send multiple pieces of content in one action
  • Automatic chart note documentation when materials are sent (supports E&M billing attestation)
  • Secure links delivered to the patient portal — no separate Healthwise login required

How it works

A provider opens the Patient Education panel while charting; Healthwise content loads without navigating away from the chart note. Content suggestions are generated from the ICD-10 codes already entered in the note, with manual search available for the full library. The provider adds one or more items to a cart and sends them in a single action — this delivers secure links to the patient's portal (with a notification) and automatically inserts documentation into the chart note confirming what was sent and when. This workflow is available to all Healthie organizations.

Healthwise Patient Education Articles lets providers share evidence-based Healthwise patient education content directly from the charting workflow, without leaving the chart note. It's built for providers who want to document patient education as part of routine charting, with content suggestions based on the diagnosis codes already entered. Providers can select multiple pieces of content and send them in one action, which delivers secure links to the patient portal and auto-documents the chart. Healthwise doesn't provide read receipts, so there's no way to confirm a patient actually opened what was sent.
