Family Portal Access
Grants one linked client full portal access to another linked client's account, such as a parent managing a child's care. Built for family practices where a parent or guardian needs to view and manage a dependent's forms, scheduling, and account activity directly. Enabled through the Notification Contact form on the linked account.

The problem it solves
Family practices often need a parent or guardian to actively manage a dependent's care within the portal, completing forms, booking appointments, reviewing charting, not just receive email copies of what's happening. By default, linking two client accounts only creates a notification relationship, with no actual portal access between them, which isn't sufficient for these care models.
What's included
- Portal access toggle within the Notification Contact form
- Full client portal visibility for the designated linked account holder
- Support for parent/guardian access to a dependent's account
- Access configured per linked client relationship
- Enabled as an organization-level advanced setting
How it works
Two client accounts are first linked to indicate a family relationship. Within the Notification Contact form on the linked account, portal access is enabled for the family member who needs it. Once enabled, that family member has full access to the linked client's portal in addition to their own.
Family Portal Access allows one linked client, such as a parent, to have full access to another linked client's portal, such as a child's account. It's built for family practices and care models where a parent or guardian needs to actively manage a dependent's care rather than just receive notifications about it. Access is granted through the Notification Contact form on the linked account, and applies specifically to accounts already linked to indicate a family relationship. This goes beyond Healthie's default linked-account behavior, which only shares notifications between accounts without granting portal access.
