Adding E-Rx Proxy Members
Grant trusted team members Proxy access to help create, edit, and manage prescriptions on behalf of a Prescribing Clinician, without letting them send or print prescriptions to a pharmacy. Proxy roles have no NPI requirement and no additional fee, and can be assigned to any team member within the same organization or sub-organization. Proxies select which Prescribing Clinician they're acting on behalf of each time they access E-Rx.

The problem it solves
Prescribers often need help preparing and managing prescription details, but giving that support staff full prescribing authority isn't appropriate or necessary. Proxy access solves this by letting administrative staff handle the prep work while keeping the final send/print action restricted to the actual Prescribing Clinician.

How it works
A practice administrator designates a team member as a Proxy when completing or updating the E-Rx Application Form, or by indicating Proxy access is needed for an existing team member. When a Proxy accesses E-Rx through a client's profile, they're prompted to select which Prescribing Clinician they're managing prescriptions on behalf of, if the organization has more than one. From there, the Proxy can create, edit, and manage prescription details, but the Prescribing Clinician must log in themselves to review and send or print the final prescription to a pharmacy.
Adding E-Rx Proxy Members lets practice administrators grant prescription-related administrative access to trusted team members who aren't themselves a Prescribing Clinician. It's built for practices where support staff, like a medical assistant or care coordinator, handle prescription prep and management on behalf of a prescriber, without needing full prescribing authority. A Proxy can create, edit, and manage prescription details, but cannot send or print a prescription to a pharmacy, and cannot create Prescription Favorites on a prescriber's behalf; only the Prescribing Clinician can finalize and send. There's no NPI requirement and no fee for Proxy roles, and permissions can only be granted to team members within the same organization or sub-organization.
