Client Tags

Add unlimited, freeform tags to a client profile to track additional attributes beyond their Client Group, then filter or search your client list by tag. Tags display on the client's profile and can be added or removed by anyone with permission. Manage all tags for the organization, including renaming or deleting, from a central Tags Manager.

The problem it solves

Client Groups can only hold one value per client, which isn't enough when a practice needs to track several independent attributes about the same client at once. Client Tags solves this by allowing an unlimited number of tags per client, so practices can layer on additional context without disrupting group-based workflows like intake flows and package visibility.

What's included

  • Unlimited tags per client, added directly from the Client List or client profile
  • Tag visibility in the profile's blue banner for use throughout the chart
  • Client List filtering by one or more tags
  • Centralized Tags Manager page showing usage counts and creator for each tag
  • Permission control over who can create new tags, separate from who can apply existing ones

How it works

A team member with permission adds one or more tags to a client from the Client List or the client's profile, separating multiple tags with a comma. Tags appear below the client's photo and in the blue banner at the top of their profile, and can be removed from either the Client List or the profile page. To find clients by tag, an admin filters the Client List using the All Tags option and selects the relevant tags. All tags across the account, both client and team member tags, are managed from Settings > Tags, where admins can view usage counts, see who created a tag, and rename or delete it. Deleting a tag from the Tags Manager removes it from every client or member currently carrying it.

Client Tags let providers add an unlimited number of freeform labels to a client's profile, capturing attributes and context that a single Client Group can't hold. It's built for practices that need to track more nuanced or overlapping attributes, such as a client's payer type, program status, or clinical flags, without limiting them to one group at a time. Tags are added and removed directly from the Client List or a client's profile, and appear in the blue banner at the top of the profile so they're visible throughout the chart. All tags across the organization, including who created them and how often they're applied, are managed centrally from the Tags Manager page, which also covers a separate Team Member Tags feature for categorizing staff.
