Internal Group Chat (Organization Team Chat)
Create a private group chat for members of your organization, separate from client-facing chat and community chats, for internal team communication like meeting reminders or case discussions. Team members can adjust their notification settings to control alerts for new messages in the team chat. Useful for staying coordinated without relying on outside messaging tools.

The problem it solves
Coordinating internally, sharing reminders, or getting quick team input on a case usually means reaching for a tool outside the EHR, disconnected from the platform where the actual client work happens. Internal Group Chat solves this by giving teams a private, HIPAA-compliant space to communicate inside Healthie itself.
What's included
- Private, team-only group chat, with no client participation
- Standard Healthie chat functionality applied to an internal audience
- Independent notification settings per team member for new chat activity
- Usable for case discussions, reminders, or general team coordination
How it works
A team member creates a new chat conversation and selects other organization members, rather than a client, as participants, forming a private internal group chat. Team members can post updates, ask for input on a case, or share reminders, and each participant can adjust their own notification preferences for when new messages come in.
Internal Group Chat lets organizations create a private, HIPAA-compliant chat exclusively for team members, separate from any chat thread involving a client. It's built for practices that want a single place for internal coordination, like flagging a case for team input or sharing a reminder about an upcoming meeting, without needing a separate outside messaging tool. Team members can be added to the internal group chat the same way any other Healthie chat is set up, and each member can independently adjust their notification settings for when new messages are posted.
