External Video Call Link
Lets providers use a third-party video platform, such as Doxy or VSee, for virtual sessions instead of Healthie's built-in video call or Zoom integration. The external link can be set as a single default for the whole organization or assigned uniquely per provider. Once configured, it's added directly to the appointment as a session link, just like Healthie's native video options.

The problem it solves
Providers who already rely on a specific video platform for virtual visits don't want to run two separate video systems or manually paste a link into every appointment. Without this setting, the external link has to be added by hand each time rather than living in the booking and appointment flow.
What's included
- Support for external video platforms like Doxy and VSee in place of built-in video or Zoom
- Account-wide default external link applied to all virtual appointments
- Per-provider unique external link option, such as a personal video room
- External link field added directly to the appointment type
- Optional advanced configuration to push the video link to a provider's main external calendar instead of a separate Healthie sub-calendar
How it works
An external video call link is set at the account level as a default, or assigned individually per provider. When a virtual appointment is booked, that link is used for the session instead of Healthie's built-in video call or Zoom.
External Video Call Link lets providers use a third-party video platform, such as Doxy or VSee, in place of Healthie's built-in video call or Zoom integration. It's built for providers with an established workflow on another video platform, and since the link is hosted outside Healthie, the provider is responsible for confirming that platform's own HIPAA compliance. The link can be set once as an account-wide default or assigned uniquely per provider, such as a personal video room, and is added directly as a field on the appointment.
