How it works
When a prescriber attempts to access E-Rx for a client who is 18 or younger, Healthie checks whether height and weight are documented on that client's profile. If either is missing, the Order & Manage Prescriptions button remains inactive, and the prescriber must add the missing height and weight from the client's profile Actions tab before E-Rx access unlocks. This check cannot be disabled or bypassed for any prescriber, since it reflects a Surescripts-mandated requirement rather than a Healthie account setting.
This automatically requires a documented height and weight on file before E-Rx can be accessed for any client 18 or younger (up to their 19th birthday), enforcing a Surescripts compliance requirement introduced in 2021 as part of the SCRIPT Standard v2017071 update to meet NCPDP regulations.
