ZocDoc

Syncs provider availability from Healthie to ZocDoc in real time and automatically creates the resulting appointment, and patient record if needed, back in Healthie when someone books. Helps practices get discovered by new patients and fill open appointment slots without manual coordination.

The problem it solves

Practices that want to be discoverable to new patients beyond their own website have no easy way to publish availability externally without maintaining a second calendar by hand. Manually re-entering bookings from an outside platform into the EHR also creates room for scheduling conflicts and missed patient records.

What's included

  • Real-time sync of provider availability from Healthie's calendar to ZocDoc
  • Automatic appointment creation in Healthie when a patient books through ZocDoc
  • Automatic patient record creation in Healthie for new patients booking via ZocDoc
  • Appointment Buffer setting support to align odd appointment durations (e.g. 55 minutes) with clean patient-facing start times on ZocDoc

How it works

Once connected, Healthie shares a provider's real-time calendar availability with ZocDoc, using templated availability and appointment types to determine which slots are shown. When a patient books an appointment through ZocDoc, that booking is created automatically in Healthie's calendar, along with a new patient record if the patient doesn't already exist. Practices with non-standard appointment durations, like 55 minutes, can use Healthie's Appointment Buffer setting to round the patient-facing start times shown on ZocDoc to cleaner intervals.

ZocDoc integration syncs a provider's real-time availability from Healthie onto the ZocDoc platform, and when a patient books through ZocDoc, the appointment, and a new patient record if one doesn't already exist, is created automatically back in Healthie. It's for practices that want to be discoverable to new patients searching on ZocDoc and fill open appointment slots without manual back-and-forth, and it requires a separate ZocDoc account and agreement alongside Healthie. Because ZocDoc reads availability directly from Healthie's calendar, providers manage their schedule in one place rather than keeping two calendars in sync by hand.
