Provider State Licenses
Track which US states each provider is professionally licensed in, separate from physical Appointment Locations, so telehealth clients can be automatically matched or filtered to a provider licensed in their state. State Licenses and Appointment Locations aren't exclusive and can be used together, but serve different purposes: licensure reflects legal ability to practice in a state, while locations represent physical practice sites. This restriction can be enforced automatically during patient self-scheduling.

The problem it solves
Practices operating across multiple states need to ensure a client is only booked with a provider licensed in the client's state, but without a dedicated licensure field, that check either happens manually or not at all. Provider State Licenses solves this by giving each provider a defined set of licensed states that can automatically restrict and filter self-scheduling.

How it works
An admin navigates to the Organization Dashboard, selects a provider, and uses a multi-select dropdown to add every state that provider is licensed in. Once configured, this licensure data can be used to filter Healthie's calendar embeds and self-scheduling flows, so clients only see or are matched with providers licensed in their state; this enforcement is configured at the Appointment Type level, so a practice can choose which specific appointment types actually require a state-license match versus leaving others unrestricted. Because this is a distinct mechanism from Appointment Locations, a practice can maintain both simultaneously, for example tracking physical office locations for in-person visits separately from the broader set of states a given provider is licensed to treat clients in via telehealth.
Provider State Licenses let organizations record which US states each provider is professionally licensed to practice in, distinct from Appointment Locations, which represent physical practice sites for in-person visits.
