Per-Appointment-Type Settings

Lets providers override account-wide appointment settings, such as notification timing, buffer time, and cancellation or rescheduling permissions, for individual appointment types. Useful for businesses that need different rules for different services, like a strict cancellation policy for consults versus a flexible one for follow-ups. Custom reminder content can also be configured per appointment type.

The problem it solves

Healthie's account-wide appointment settings apply the same rules to every appointment type by default, but businesses offering varied services often need different policies for each. Without per-type overrides, providers are stuck choosing one cancellation policy, buffer, or notification schedule for everything they offer.

What's included

  • Per-appointment-type notification timing and content
  • Per-appointment-type buffer time
  • Per-appointment-type client cancellation permission
  • Per-appointment-type client rescheduling permission
  • Custom reminder content configurable per appointment type

How it works

Once enabled for an account, each appointment type gains its own settings panel separate from the general account-wide appointment settings. Providers configure notifications, buffer time, and cancellation or rescheduling permissions individually for each appointment type, and those settings override the defaults for appointments of that type.

Per-Appointment-Type Settings lets providers configure notifications, buffer time, and cancellation or rescheduling permissions differently for each appointment type, instead of one blanket setting applying to everything. It's built for businesses offering multiple types of services that each need their own booking rules. Once enabled for an account, each appointment type gains its own settings panel that overrides the account-wide defaults. Custom appointment reminder content can also be set per appointment type once this is turned on.
