Send Client Chat Based on Form Response

When a provider marks a specific field in a session note, automatically send the client a chat message — delivering next-step instructions without any manual follow-up.

Built by SE Team

The problem it solves

When a provider determines mid-treatment that a patient is ready for a next step — like group therapy — there is no automated way to notify the patient. The handoff relies on the provider remembering to send a manual message.

What's included

  • Automatic check of a configured form field on note submission
  • Chat sent to the client with a configured group session information template

How it works

Trigger: a configured form field is marked true (e.g. 'Attend CBT Group' in a progress note). Steps: evaluate the field value — if true, send a chat message to the client with a configured group session information template including session details, dates, and instructions.

Send Client Chat Based on Form Response sends the client an automatic chat message when a provider marks a specific field in a session note, so next-step instructions go out without relying on a provider remembering to follow up manually. It's built for behavioral health and substance use practices coordinating step-downs like group therapy, and requires Healthie Forms, Automate, and Patient Portal. When the configured field (e.g. 'Attend CBT Group') is marked true, the client receives a chat with session details, dates, and instructions.
