Automatic Appointment Charging
Automatically charges a client's card, or generates an invoice, the moment an appointment is marked Occurred — no manual billing step required.

The problem it solves
Practices billing clients directly for sessions need a reliable way to collect payment after every appointment, but manually charging or invoicing each client after every session is repetitive and easy to fall behind on.
What's included
- Per-appointment-type pricing, with optional situational pricing by provider or client
- Automatic charge to card on file when an appointment is marked Occurred
- Automatic invoice generation when no valid card is on file
- Optional duration-based price adjustment for sessions that run long
- Automatic charging for late cancellation and no-show fees
How it works
Enable Pricing per Appointment Type in Appointment Settings, then set a default price for each appointment type (with optional situational pricing by provider or by client, or duration-based adjustments). Turn on "Automatically charge for appointments set as occurred" and/or "Automatically invoice clients without a valid payment card on file" under Settings > Appointments > Payments and Credits. Once an appointment is marked Occurred, Healthie schedules a charge to the client's card on file, or generates and emails an invoice if no card is on file. The same settings also support automatic charges for late cancellations and no-shows.
Automatic Appointment Charging automatically charges a client's card on file, or generates an invoice if no card is on file, as soon as an appointment is marked Occurred. It's built for self-pay practices that want to collect payment without a manual billing step for every session. Pricing is set per appointment type, with optional situational pricing by provider or by client, and rates can adjust automatically based on actual session duration. This setting is separate from Healthie's insurance billing automation for copays, deductibles, and coinsurance, which is a different feature.
