Q1 2026 set the pace for the year.

Across clinical workflows, billing infrastructure, data intelligence, and developer experience, we shipped meaningful improvements, and began laying the groundwork for the next phase of proactive, longitudinal care.

Below is a look at what shipped in January, February, and March.Β

You can view and follow our roadmap anytime in Healthie's Product Portal.

1. Intelligence by Healthie: Ambient Scribe, AI-Native Documentation

2026 was always going to be the year we deepened AI capabilities in clinical workflows. Q1 was the start of that.

βœ… Ambient Scribe Beta

We kicked off the beta for Ambient Scribe, expanding Healthie's AI Scribe documentation capabilities beyond telehealth to support real-time, ambient capture of in-person sessions. This reduces documentation burden while keeping providers fully present with their clients.

Get notified when Ambient Scribe is available.

Alongside the beta launch, we shipped a set of improvements to make the Scribe experience clearer and more actionable:

  • Draft notes now display prominent Convert and Delete buttons, so providers always know what they can do next
  • When deleting a Scribe draft, providers are prompted to share a quick reason, helping us improve output quality based on real feedback
  • Converted notes now display a banner confirming AI generation and a Give Feedback button for in-context input
  • Webhooks expanded to include key events across the AI Scribe workflow, making it easier to build reliable, event-driven integrations on top of AI-generated clinical notes.

AI Scribe is part of Intelligence by Healthie β€” built natively into clinical workflows, not bolted on.

2. Clinical Workflows: Mobile, Tasks, and Goals

βœ… E-Rx & Medication Management on Mobile

Providers can now manage a client's full medication list directly from their mobile profile, viewing, adding, and updating medications, and sending prescriptions through Dosespot without leaving the app. Complete medication history stays alongside clinical notes, keeping providers in their workflow wherever they are.

  • E-prescribe instantly through Dosespot from the client profile
  • Add medications from outside providers or prior to joining your practice
  • Update dosages, frequencies, and remove discontinued medications
  • View complete medication history alongside clinical notes

βœ… Comments in Tasks

Teams can now add context, clarifications, and follow-up notes directly on tasks, keeping communication organized and traceable without leaving Healthie.

βœ… Goal Setting: Creator Visibility and Full Action History

Healthie's Goal Setting feature now gives providers and clients greater visibility into how goals are managed:

  • Each goal displays the provider or user who created it
  • A chronological action history log shows who made each update
  • Clients can see exactly which provider is guiding each goal β€” helpful for multi-provider care teams

3. Scheduling & Access: Self-Scheduling and Cancellation Tracking

Scheduling isn't just logistics, it's a driver of engagement, continuity of care, and clinical outcomes over time. Q1 brought two meaningful upgrades here.

βœ… Client Self-Scheduling: Redesigned for Higher Completion

We rebuilt the client booking flow from the ground up based on customer feedback and real booking behavior data. The goal: reduce drop-off and help more clients successfully complete their booking.

  • Client-facing names and descriptions: Customize how appointment types appear to clients, separate from internal names, with descriptions so clients know what to expect
  • Streamlined navigation: Larger click targets, intuitive back/forward buttons, and a consolidated layout
  • Brand-consistent booking: Add your brand color to booking links and embeds
  • Provider context throughout: Provider bios appear consistently across the flow
  • Centralized settings: All self-scheduling configuration now lives at Settings > Self-Scheduling

βœ… Cancellation Tracking: Who Cancelled and Why

Every cancellation is now classified by type and paired with a required reason β€” giving teams the data they need to understand patterns and reduce avoidable cancellations.

  • Classify cancellations as client-initiated, provider-initiated, or organization-initiated
  • Require a reason from clients, org members, or both
  • Context-specific reason options keep data clean and accurate

4. Data by Healthie: Payments Dashboard and Provider Utilization

In our 2026 Product Vision, we committed to expanding Visualize by Healthie with purpose-built dashboards that give teams faster access to operational insight. Q1 delivered two of those.

βœ… Payments Dashboard

An interactive Payments Report in Visualize now gives your team instant, self-service access to all payment data β€” eliminating manual exports and support requests.

  • Filter by date range, status, payment type, and invoice type
  • View pre-built visualizations for payment totals, success rates, and method distribution
  • Download filtered data on demand for reconciliation and accounting workflows
  • Access real-time data from Healthie's warehouse without impacting system performance

βœ… Provider Utilization Dashboard

Practice managers and administrators can now understand provider capacity and make smarter staffing decisions, without needing technical support or custom exports.

The dashboard surfaces three core metrics in one view:

  • Total Availability Hours: how much time each provider has set as available
  • Total Appointment Hours: how much of that time is actually booked
  • Utilization Percentage: the ratio of booked to available time, filterable by date range and provider

Identify over-utilized providers who may need support. Spot under-utilized capacity before it becomes a problem. Plan hiring decisions based on actual data. Read more.Β

5. Insurance Billing: Connecting the Revenue Cycle End-to-End

In 2026, we committed to building toward a more unified, end-to-end billing infrastructure that reduces vendor fragmentation and makes RCM workflows easier to operate at scale. Q1 delivered several meaningful pieces of that.

βœ… Insurance Payments Dashboard (Claim.MD Users)

A new Insurance Payments tab brings all ERA-based payments into one consolidated view for organizations using Healthie's Claim.MD integration:

  • See all Claim.MD ERA payments in a unified list
  • Track payment status with Received / Not Received indicators
  • Open full ERA details directly from each payment
  • Search and filter to quickly find specific transactions

βœ… Centralized Insurance Settings

All insurance billing configurations, from CMS-1500 claims, ERA tracking, to appointment payment types, now live in a single hub at Settings > Insurance:

  • Enable or disable insurance billing features across your entire account with one toggle
  • Settings follow logical dependencies, guiding setup in the right order
  • Cash-pay practices can hide all insurance options completely, removing unnecessary clutter

βœ… Stronger Protections for CMS 1500 Records

Two new safeguards keep billing records accurate and audit-ready:

  • View-only mode: Users with insurance permissions can view CMS 1500 forms at any stage without the ability to edit
  • Auto-locking for sent claims (coming soon): Claims that reach "Sent" status will be automatically locked β€” no manual step needed
  • Smart fields can no longer retroactively overwrite data on submitted claims

6. Developer Experience: API Docs Refresh and Dev Assist 2.0

In 2026, we committed to building a best-in-class developer experience β€” with investments in documentation, SDKs, and tooling throughout the year. Q1 delivered two significant upgrades.

βœ… API Docs Refresh

Several updates to Healthie's API documentation improve change visibility and support AI-native development workflows:

  • Automated API changelog: A weekly, auto-generated changelog captures all GraphQL schema changes from the prior week, published every Friday. Changelog entries have also been backfilled for the past 12 months.
  • AI- and Markdown-friendly documentation: Every docs page now supports direct Markdown export, native Markdown views, and one-click sending to tools like ChatGPT and Claude
  • Exploring AI chat for API docs: We're actively evaluating an AI-powered chat experience within the API Docs for natural-language schema exploration

Read the full post on what's new in Healthie's API Docs.

βœ… Dev Assist 2.0

Dev Assist 2.0 is a ground-up rebuild of the schema exploration server β€” faster, leaner, and cross-platform. Instead of sequential tool calls, it now executes all schema operations in a single parallel block.

The results:

  • 64% fewer tokens consumed per session
  • 55% fewer round-trips
  • ~5x faster responses on average, with up to 84% improvement on complex cross-type queries

What else is new:

  • A single execute_healthie_code tool replaces the previous search_schema + introspect pair
  • Live API execution β€” test against real response shapes, not just schema definitions
  • Structured JSON responses instead of raw SDL text
  • Removed macOS-only binary dependency β€” now pure Node.js, runs on any platform
  • Pagination support on large types to prevent runaway token consumption

Dev Assist 2.0 is a drop-in replacement. No configuration changes required.

7. Platform & Administration: Sub-Org Management and Authentication

βœ… Improved Sub-Organization Management

Managing team members across sub-organizations just got easier:

  • Add new team members to multiple sub-organizations at once
  • Add existing parent org members to additional sub-orgs β€” without recreating profiles

βœ… Enhanced Authentication Platform

Healthie migrated to a new authentication platform for all production accounts, strengthening login security and laying the foundation for expanded MFA enforcement later this quarter:

  • A new provider sign-in experience is now live
  • Passkeys are available as a sign-in option
  • Enhanced protections include bot detection, impossible travel detection, breached password detection, and suspicious IP analysis
  • MFA will be required for all provider accounts later this quarter β€” we will communicate timing in advance

What's Coming Next

Q1 was the beginning. As we move into Q2 and beyond, we'll continue to build on the themes we outlined in our 2026 Product Vision β€” deepening Intelligence by Healthie, expanding Data by Healthie, connecting the revenue cycle end-to-end, and investing in the clinical and developer experiences that help your team operate at scale.

Here's a look at what's actively in development now:

AI Scribe for In-Person and Phone Call Sessions β€” Broader Release

The beta for Ambient Scribe is already underway with our first wave of participants. We'll be opening a second wave in the coming weeks, extending the same familiar AI Scribe workflow from telehealth to in-person and phone call appointments β€” with audio transcription supported directly within Healthie.Β

Enhanced Quick Profile with New Customizable Components

Organization owners will soon be able to tailor the Quick Profile to surface the clinical information most relevant to their workflows. New components coming include Diagnoses, Allergies, Medications, and Labs β€” all accessible and actionable without leaving the charting context. This work is wrapping up development; if you're interested in early access, comment on the roadmap card.

E-Lab Ordering Within the Quick Profile

Providers will be able to create lab orders and notify clients to complete fulfillment steps directly from the Quick Profile during a charting session β€” no more navigating away from the chart. Support for Change and Rupa lab vendors is coming as part of this release, building on the existing capability available to E-Labs Direct customers today.

Follow this update on the roadmap β†’

Associate E-Lab and E-Rx Orders to a Chart Note

Two related updates will link ordering activity directly to clinical documentation. Providers will be able to associate e-lab orders with a specific chart note from within the charting workflow, and e-prescribing orders placed through Dosespot can now be tied to the chart note they belong to β€” improving order tracking, documentation consistency, and compliance workflows.

Appointment Requests Dashboard

The final piece of Healthie's Appointment Requests feature set: a dashboard in Visualize that gives teams insight into how the process is performing. Expect visibility into time-to-first-appointment, open and closed trends, request breakdowns by provider and appointment type, and conversion rates β€” helping practices understand access, capacity, and where requests drop off.

Follow this update on the roadmap β†’

Secondary Claim Creation via Claim.MD (API)

We're expanding Healthie's Claim.MD integration to support secondary claims for patients covered by more than one insurance plan. API users will be able to programmatically create and submit secondary claims linked to a finalized primary claim, with COB data automatically pre-filled from the primary remittance. A subsequent release will bring this functionality to the Healthie web app for all users.
