When Daybreak migrated to Healthie as their provider-facing EHR, they needed more than a connector. They needed a data layer their entire organization could build on. Bridge became that layer: clinical data flows from Healthie into an S3 bucket, into BigQuery, and out to Looker Enterprise, powering clinician payroll, claims submission, school district reporting and clinical accountability workflows from a single source.

The Challenge
Why does pediatric behavioral health need different tooling?
When Daybreak migrated off its legacy tech stack in 2024, they chose Healthie as their provider-facing EHR and immediately faced the question every data-dependent care organization confronts: how do you get your clinical data out reliably?
The first connector they tried was Fivetran. A misconfigured sync flag on Fivetran's end silently dropped upcoming appointment data from their warehouse. Upcoming appointment data is the dataset every function at Daybreak depends on: scheduling, clinical operations, payroll, partner reporting. By the time the gap surfaced, diagnosing the root cause took four hours of engineering time, and every downstream team member was blocked in the interim.. "Appointment data was just not reliable through the Fivetran connector," said Joan Rhee, Senior Director of EPAD.
The incident wasn't a one-time misconfiguration. It kept recurring. The options were to keep firefighting, or to build and maintain custom API pipelines against Healthie (a significant ongoing investment for a lean engineering team on tight margins). Bridge by Healthie was the third path.

Inside the build
Daybreak built an analytics stack their whole company could run on
Daybreak switched to Bridge by Healthie, which deposits structured EHR data directly into an S3 bucket feeding their BigQuery warehouse. The setup was immediate and instantly provided the stability Daybreak needed. From there, Julian Rodriguez, Analytics Engineer, built a dbt-backed data model on top of Bridge’s feed, joining Healthie data with Daybreak’s other operational sources and surfacing the unified layer in Looker Enterprise.

- Bridge data export to S3 -> Big Query: Structured EHR data lands in Daybreak's S3 bucket on a predictable schedule with no custom integration work on their end. Schema changes in Healthie don’t break the pipeline.
- Sub-organization structure: Daybreak manages reporting across multiple school district partners within a single organized data environment. What would have required custom multi-tenant logic in their previous stack is handled natively.
- Full analytics stack: Finance uses Bridge data for clinician payroll and claims submission. Go-to-market teams report session and engagement data back to school district partners. Clinical managers track provider availability, charting completion, and assessment cadence, all from one source of truth.
