How it works
Embedded Zoom (via Zoom Meeting SDK) is enabled by default in appointment settings; Core and Essentials customers can enable it as a paid add-on. When a session starts, providers and clients join via the "Join in Healthie" option directly inside the Healthie interface, with "Open in Zoom app" available as a fallback for providers who prefer the native app. Organization admins set the default video call behavior (In Healthie vs. In Zoom App) at the org level, so teams can adopt the embedded experience on their own timeline. Existing Zoom meeting URLs, appointment scheduling, and notifications are unchanged under the hood.
Embedded Zoom Video lets providers and clients join Zoom-based telehealth visits directly inside Healthie's web interface via a "Join in Healthie" option, so no separate app or browser tab is needed. It's for providers who want to keep clinical notes, patient records, and documentation tools on screen during a visit, and it requires Zoom to already be enabled on the account. Providers can still choose "Open in Zoom app" for the native Zoom experience.
